FAQ
Good to know before you go
How many people can stay in a cabin?
Each cabin sleeps up to 4 guests (strictly limited to 4), with one queen bed and one full/double bed, plus a crib. The primary renter must be at least 18.
What is the layout?
About 500 sq ft: one bedroom, a living area, a kitchenette, one full bathroom, and an upstairs sleeping loft. The loft is reached by steep ladder-style stairs, so it may not suit everyone. The cabins are not wheelchair accessible.
What are check-in and checkout times?
Self check-in is from 4:00 PM and checkout is by 10:00 AM. Arrival details are sent before your stay.
Is there a minimum stay?
Yes, 2 nights.
What do the rates look like?
Starting nightly rates: Slow Breakup (Apr 8–May 14) from $169; Full Summer (May 15–Sep 27) from $340; Winter Begins (Sep 28–Dec 10) from $179; Sled Season (Dec 11–Mar 28) from $224. The cleaning fee is $70, and direct bookings include the 5% Mat-Su Borough bed tax. Live prices are in the booking calendar.
What is the cancellation policy when I book direct?
100% refund if you cancel 30 or more days before arrival, 50% if 7 or more days before, and non-refundable after that. Direct bookings pay 50% at booking and the balance 7 days before arrival. Airbnb and Vrbo bookings follow the policy shown on those platforms.
Do I need 4WD in winter?
Yes. From October to April a 4WD or AWD vehicle with winter tires is required. A contracted plow clears the main driveway after about 6" or more of snow (timing isn't guaranteed). Guests shovel their own stairs, boardwalk and deck; shovels are provided.
Can I bring my snow machine and trailer?
Yes. The one-way drive has room for trucks and enclosed trailers, and you can ride straight from the property to the trails. RVs are not allowed.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, Starlink satellite internet. It's provided as a convenience and can't be guaranteed in remote Alaska.
What is in the kitchen?
A kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, microwave, oven, toaster, blender, a coffee maker with coffee, and dishes and silverware. Drinking water is provided from a dispenser.
How are the cabins heated?
Each cabin has programmable heaters plus an electric fireplace.
Are pets allowed?
No pets, please. Service animals only.
Can we smoke or have a party?
No smoking of any kind inside the cabins, and no parties or events.
Can we have a campfire?
Yes, in the provided fire pit only. Please bring your own firewood, check burn bans (Alaska Fire Info app), and put the fire out completely.
Are kids welcome?
Yes. A crib, pack 'n play, baby gates and board games are available.
Anything else to know?
The cabins run on on-grid power, and rural outages can happen. Water is from a well (a slight odor is normal), and the tank water heater means shorter showers are best. The septic system is sensitive. There are exterior security cameras on the property, and bear-proof trash bins.
